The code of this Java-applet describes the movement of a red polygon. There are two modes: Whenever the viewer clicks on the screen, the polygon is attracted to the mouse pointer and forms a flexible circular drop that can be dragged around the screen. Once the mouse button is released, the forces that shape the drop fade away and unleash internal impulses that vitalize the graphic object: It starts to stretch and contract, it can grow big with sharp spikes pointing in various directions, or condense again in a smooth shape. But even though the overall motion of the displayed object seems to be very chaotic, the displayed object's smooth flowing movements always remind of its origin as a drop.
