Description

Geolocative performance simultaneously staged in the street and in the theater. The public sits in a tent, on which text messages of an urban passer-by / actor are manipulated by movements of a dancer outside the tent. Surveillance technologies, GPS from the cellphone and a sensor system, are here diverted and integrated into the narrative of Italo Calvino's short story, “A king listens”. The dancer watches over, manipulates and dominates his environment, like Calvino’s king. Reflection on infiltration of private life by surveillance systems, also questioning theater performance conventions and formats.
