Description
Virtual Station is an audio-video project which reminds us of the existing emotional states of a human being. The key of the project is the computer-human interaction. The project involves visual, auditory and emotional receptors. Visual and sound content are brought together to create an emotional psycho-physical reaction in the viewer as he interacts with the video. Nine short video pictures (video self-portraits) are presented within the Planet Mar main video base.
They are the nine emotional states: SADNESS, FEAR, HAPPINESS, DEPRESSION, SURPRISE, EXPLOSION, ANGER, FANTASY, ENJOYMENT.
Number 9, as the last in series of numbers, announces the beginning and the end at the same time. It contains the idea of birth and germination. There are nine openings on human body, nine ways in which we communicate with the world. The symbolism of this number is common in many cultures and mythologies.
The project is elastic and can be presented in many ways, as Net Art project (from 2004-2007), as an interactive installation in gallery space (2005-2006), etc. It can be adjusted for multiply persons. The project was built at the old personal website www.martinazelenika.from.hr
