Description
Animation is an illusion of movement. Movement is based on space and time.
SPACE. My work consists of several short animations. Every animation is based on only one photograph. Every photo contains several visual elements, and every photo creates its own space.
TIME. Each animation is approximately one minute long. Every animation starts with a photo as a still image. There is no movement. Then slow panning shows parts of the photo. The speed of panning is increasing. At a certain speed, parts of the photo are not independent elements any more. The speed generates animation: elements of the photo generates the illusion of movement.
Every animation presents a range of movements from STILL to SLOW and FAST.
The work presents that movement exists within each still image. It decodes the photographs' own micromovements.
