Description
Notes on Preliminary Plan and Accompanying Images.
• The public enter through a gently curved corridor allowing time for their eyes to adjust to the low light level and obscuring the view ahead of the Forest.
• Choice of paths to give a sensation of wandering in the forest.
• Seating areas where visitors can stop and contemplate.
• The trees are lit with an endlessly changing flowing pattern of images, sometimes abstract and sometimes recognisable.
• Each tree is a kinetic sculpture rising up from the ground and suspended from above. The trees will be almost the full height of the space.
• The whole area is dark apart from the projections. Walls and ceiling painted black and black carpet.
• Enter and exit through narrow passages to prevent light leakage.
The closed off area is primarily to hide the full view of the forest until visitors have walked into the space. Optionally it can also be used to house computers providing signal to the projectors. Position and direction of projectors has not been decided.

Montage1: This is a montage of photographs from the installation Timeless Universe. I chose particularly abstract images. I think of Montage1 as showing the ‘The Forest by Moonlight.’
Montage2 and 3 are computer-generated images showing possible form and projections on sculptures to be created for the Pavilion of Dreams.
Plan and all images are preliminary and final form may vary. They are created to show the look and feel of the installation.
