About

The Brandhorst Collection houses over 1,400 works by international artists and spans the period from the late 1950s to the present day. Europe's largest collection of works by Andy Warhol and the world's unique holdings of Cy Twombly are the cornerstones of the collection. Other focal points are the outstanding holdings of neo-avant-garde artists such as Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter and Bruce Nauman and postmodern artists such as Jeff Koons, Mike Kelley and Cady Noland, as well as groups of works by international positions in contemporary painting such as Laura Owens, Jacqueline Humphries, Monika Baer and Wade Guyton. Through an annual purchasing budget, the Udo and Anette Brandhorst Foundation enables the museum to continuously expand its collection of contemporary art systematically and programmatically.
