The CSMVS, or the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya is leading cultural institution in India. Founded in 1905, the museum now holds sculptures, terracottas, bronzes, excavated artifacts from the Harappan sites, Indian miniature paintings, European paintings, porcelain and ivory objects from China and Japan, etc.
