Description
Self&Other (2015 in progress)
An in progress Robot performance, by Roc Parés & Martí Sánchez-Fibla, featuring two NAO anthropomorphic Robots.
The scene is organized around an empty mirror frame, with one robot on each side. The two identical robots engage in a sequence of choreographed movements in which synchronization and symmetry suggest robot’s self-awareness.
Inspired in the famous “mirror scene” from 1933 Marx Brothers’ film Duck Soup, our robot performance raises questions about cognitive psychology, embodied interaction, machine learning and computer vision.
