A Special Evening of Electronic Visual Music

Comment: As part of Acevedo’s retrospective exhibition at Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, he organized and presented a Special Evening of EVM: Electronic Visual Music. It featured the musical acts, Rex Bruce, J3m5 (James Allen) and Hookah. A grouping of some of his favorite electronic musicians. Acevedo provided the live-mix visuals using the software VDMX on his laptop for each group or solo performer. Both Rex and James worked modular synthesis systems and Hookah, performing as a trio worked keyboards and samplers. The evening was officially documented on video by Tom Bartolac and Tommy Blatnik.
