Medi@terra 01 was a travelling Festival. Its "historic journey" started from Lavrion and ended in Frankfurt (at the International Book Fair) having crossed the Balkans, and having met the artists, scientists, state agencies, universities, institutions and cultural centres with which it is co-organised events, exhibitions, symposia and discussions. This reverse movement from the periphery toward the centre conveyed a message of peace and social cohesion through the cultural events included in its activities as it crossed particularly sensitive regions, which are among the first to attract worldwide interest.
