Cristina Miranda de Almeida

Art and new materialities.

Cristina Miranda de Almeida holds a European Ph. D in Art (University of the
Basque Country UPV/EHU, 2005). Graduation in Art (UPV/EHU), Graduation in
Architecture (USU), Master in Industrial Design, Master in Urban in Territorial
Planning (University of Valencia and Fundicot, Madrid). She has been Visiting
Researcher and Scholar in 6 international Research Centres (Plymouth, Paris,
Toronto, Florence, Barcelona, Washington DC). Highlights are her longterm
collaboration in the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (Digital Cultures and
Medi@acccions# DC, IN3/UOC, Barcelona) since 2009 and as a lecturer in the
UPV/EHU in Art and Technology (2007-2014) and in the Master and Doctorate
Programme Art Research and Creation (2007-2016). During collaboration in the IN3 she developed projects on cultural heritage (Centre of Arts Santa Monica and Museum of History of Barcelona). Her research focus is on art and new materialities. Cristina has internationally published, and presented her research results in 3 books, 11 journal articles, 23 book chapters, several art exhibitions and art awards.
