Professor Eleanor Gates-Stuart’s professional practice extends a variety of experience, particularly in research and teaching leadership, relating to the sciences, technology, communication and arts, working in partnership with major research organisations, museums, education, business and government. Most recently, enjoying the start of an adjunct Professorial position at Charles Sturt University, following her substantial position as Professor of Creative Industries and then Arts, and also as a founder and research lead of the eXtended Reality Collaborative / Centre (XRC) aka eXtended Reality Centre.
Her international research is diverse and collaborative; both in the advancement of innovation and communication, questioning and engaging audience in multi-perspective experiences and visual narrative. Her scope of creativity and research interests are extensive with analysis of meaning in data and visual research, including immersive content, interactive exhibits and the application of innovative materials.
Eleanor’s collaborative research projects and commissions have received international and national support, acknowledged by both Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government and Australian Government, including prestigious awards. Her international profile and research include roles: professor, visiting fellow, curator, exhibitor, director of media and science arts events. A regular contributor to numerous professional associations, collaborating, publishing and presenting papers: UK, USA, Taiwan & Australia.
Her interdisciplinary research is diverse and collaborative, a PhD at the Australian National Centre Public Awareness of Science at the ANU, in association with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO).
