Alok b. Nandi, media author/artist, is active in "new media" since 1994. He is working on cross-media projects, in mixed-realities (virtual, augmented, telepresence ...). He is exploring narrative spaces through cinema, photo, video, new media, ... in Europe, Japan and India. He was a Japan Foundation fellow in 1996. He has been awarded for urbicande.be in 1997, has been selected for Imagina 2000 and 2002 and is giving interventions and workshops in Porto 2001, after the installation "utHOPEia" in Salzburg (May/June 2001). Lecturing and speaking in conferences (Interactive Frictions 1999, LA; DAC 1999, Georgia Tech; DAC 2000, Bergen; CODE 2001, Cambridge, ArtSci 2002 in New York, ARCO03 in Madrid,...), his writings appeared in several publications. He has conceived/edited "Satyajit Ray at 70" and a series of exhibitions at Cannes Film Festival, London Film Festival,... and has directed/produced "Les voies de Tagore", with Sharmila Roy as the main interprete/vocalist.
