Emiliano Zucchini

Emiliano Zucchini was born in Frascati in 1982 and lives in Rome. After completing his studies in Graphic Design, he began working as a graphic designer and photographer for various art publishing houses in Rome, Milan, and Ancona, building relationships with critics and artists that helped shape his artistic thought.

His research often focuses on representing the unobservable, the imperceptible. Active in the arts since the early 2000s, he experimented with video, photography, and digital media. Around 2010, his work began to focus on the white and grey checkerboard pattern, a symbol of the digital void in computer graphics, representing the absence of color and pixels. This new series became known as Void.

In Zucchini’s art, the digital void is an intricate dimension where lines and geometric shapes emerge from the checkerboard pattern. Ilaria Bignotti writes: "A white and grey checkerboard, a neutral grid: it is a blank slate, full of possibilities, upon which Zucchini traces hypotheses of forms in N dimensions and variations... resonance and isolation chambers for meditation and contemplation."

Since 2015, Zucchini has been experimenting with 3D printing. This latest series is called Void Materia.

His works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad and are part of important museum and private collections such as the Tate Gallery Archives, MART Rovereto, Collezione Palli, Museo MAAM in Rome, and many others. He has exhibited in prestigious venues such as La Triennale in Milan, Castello Sforzesco, GAMC Viareggio, Fiesp Building in São Paulo, and The Wrong Digital Biennale.
