Roy Ascott
Roy Ascott is a pioneering media artist and world known theorist, who works with cybernetics and telematics, whose work focuses on the impact of digital and telecommunications networks on consciousness. He has held many prestigious academic appointments in the US, UK, Canada and Europe and serves in juries, editorial boards, festivals, media centres and universities throughout the world. He has published over 100 texts, and is widely translated. Currently he is President of the Beijing DeTao Masters Academy. He is also founding editor of the research journal Technoetic Arts, honorary editor of Leonardo, and author of such the books as Telematic Embrace: Visionary Theories of Art, Technology and Consciousness.
Gunalan Nadarajan
Gunalan Nadarajan is a curator, author, and researcher working at the intersection of the arts, science, and technology. Since July 2012 he is dean of the School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan. His publications include the book Ambulations and many essays and academic articles. Nadarajan corresponding editor to several international journals and curated many international exhibitions, most notably Ambulation, Cyberarts: Intersections of Art and Technology, 180kg, TOYS and Interfaces and was contributing curator for Documenta XI & Mediacity. Nadarajan has several ongoinig research projects in art and biology, phytodynamics, robotic arts, toys, ambient intelligence, nano-fabrication, smart clothing and gaming. As chair he served for the second international Conference on Media Art Histories, the ISEA Conference Singapore and many other events of the field.
José R. Alcalá
José R. Alcalá is a media artist, curator, and researcher. Head Professor of New Media Art at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. Director of the Ibero-American Observatory of Digital and Electronic Arts. Director of ASRI; Art and Society; Research Magazine. Director of the MIDECIANT International Museum of Electrograph (1989-2018). Coordinator of Collections and Archives of Contemporary Art of Cuenca (2013-2018). Spanish Royal Academy of Arts National Award "for the innovations contributed to graphic art" (1999). Author of such the books as The skin of the Image: Essays on graphics in digital culture; Being Digital: Manual for converts to electronic culture; or Monsters, ghosts and aliens: Poetics of representation in cyber society.
Erkki Huhtamo
Erkki Huhtamo is a media archaeologist, author, collector and exhibition curator. Currently he is Associate professor of Media History and Theory at UCLA, Department of Design / Media Arts. Huhtamo has published extensively on media archaeology and media arts and curated numerous exhibitions and events, including the major international exhibition Alien Intelligence (KIASMA Museum of Contemporary Art, Helsinki, 2000). He has served in many art exhibition and festival juries, including Siggraph, Ars Electronica, and the Interactive Media Festival. Erkki lectured widely in Europe, the United States, Japan, and elsewhere, and has written and directed television series about media culture.
Christiane Paul
Christiane Paul is Chief Curator / Director of the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center and Professor in the School of Media Studies at The New School, as well as Adjunct Curator of Digital Art at the Whitney Museum of American Art. She has written extensively on new media arts and lectured internationally on art and technology. She is the recipient of the Thoma Foundation's 2016 Arts Writing Award in Digital Art, and her recent exhibitions include Programmed: Rules, Codes, and Choreographies in Art 1965 - 2018 (2018/19) at the Whitney Museum and The Question of Intelligence - AI and the Future of Humanity at the Sheila C. Johnson Design Center at The New School (2020).
Martin Roth†
Martin Roth was curator at the German Historical Museum, Berlin (1989-91) and Director of the German Hygiene-Museum, Dresden (1991-2000) before being appointed Director General of the Dresden State Art Collections in 2001-2011. From September 2011 until 2017, he was Director of the Victoria and Albert Museum London. He is widely published and has lectured at the University of Dresden, the School of Design in Karlsruhe and University of Karlsruhe. In July 2017, he was appointed to the honorary position of President of the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (foreign relations), Germany.
